Star Gazing Syndrome

A new rescue. Serio says this cub is suffering from “Star Gazing Syndrome” which is caused by Vitamin A deficiency due to inbreeding. There is no scientific documentation associating Star Gazing Syndrome with inbreeding. It is a common Vitamin A deficiency associated with privately owned/captive big cats. Perhaps his Avian Vet is incapable of understanding this? Because the cats are not birds?

In the span of two days, Serio has changed the origin story of the young lion who he claimed had first been “dumped” at Stage 2, then was supposedly rescued by a close friend of his. It’s odd he would say Pedro’s workers dropped the cub at his facility when earlier he said it was dumped. Dumped? With his security at the front? Has the Zoo become a half way house where people “dump” their animals anonymously? Obviously, these stories do not match, and you can expect Serio will formulate an excuse or two as to why he has made-up two completely different accounts of where this lion really came from. Lest we forget that this is not the first time Serio has done this, it should cause concern in BJWT followers and supporters that the Zoo’s own founder cannot even keep the stories straight. How can anyone believe this Zoo when the very person who created it cannot tell the truth about where he gets his animals? How can this not be concerning for supporters when there is quite literally no true story behind where this lion came from? Don’t believe everything Serio says just because he says it; if he can’t tell the real truth about this lion, what else is he hiding?

The importance of animal welfare is at the top of my list, with lions being in the forefront. There is a lot to be accompomlished and collectively the roar will be louder.
